Terms of Service

1. The service

Médiathèque ("the Service") is software that helps you manage media libraries you control: finding duplicate files and recompressing video. The Service is operated as software: your media files are processed by an agent program running on your own equipment. Your files are never uploaded to or stored on our servers. Only metadata (file names, sizes, technical attributes), generated thumbnails relayed transiently, and account data pass through the Service.

2. Your responsibilities

You may only process media you own or are licensed to manage. You are responsible for compliance with all laws and the rights of content owners. See the Acceptable Use Policy, which is part of these Terms.

3. Accounts and trials

Each workspace starts with a free trial (currently 14 days). After the trial, a paid subscription is required for agents to connect. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for activity under your account, including device tokens issued to your agents.

4. Destructive operations

The Service can move files to a trash directory and delete them permanently. Actions you approve (such as duplicate verdicts) are executed on your equipment by your agent. Maintain your own backups; the Service provides an audit log but is not a backup system.

5. Payment

Subscriptions are billed periodically in advance and may be canceled at any time; access continues until the end of the paid period. Payment processing is handled by our payment provider; we do not store card details.

6. Availability and changes

We aim for continuous availability but provide the Service "as is," without warranty of any kind. We may modify or discontinue features. If we introduce material changes to these Terms, we will notify account holders by email.

7. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amounts you paid in the twelve months preceding the claim.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service and cancel at any time. We may suspend accounts that violate these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy.
